Las verdaderas riquezas (True riches)

Entonces, si no son confiables con las riquezas mundanas, ¿quién les confiará las verdaderas riquezas del cielo?

Jesús nos enseña que hay dos tipos de riquezas; las mundanas, o riquezas materiales, y las verdaderas, o riquezas del cielo. Las primeras son perecederas y se quedarán acá en la tierra. Como dice el refrán popular, “nunca se ha visto un entierro con trasteo”. Sin embargo, es interesante ver que los seres humanos invertimos la mayor parte de nuestro tiempo en acumular riquezas mundanas siendo que estas no tienen un valor eterno.

Piensa en la eternidad por un instante….

Ahora piensa en tu vida temporal en esta tierra. Si te va bien vivirás 120 años. ¿Qué son 120 años frente a la ETERNIDAD? ¿Valdrá la pena invertir la mayor parte de tus años en la tierra en acumular y conseguir lo que no tendrá valor alguno en la eternidad?

Mateo 6:19-21 (RVR 1960)

No os hagáis tesoros en la tierra, donde la polilla y el orín corrompen, y donde ladrones minan y hurtan; sino haceos tesoros en el cielo, donde ni la polilla ni el orín corrompen, y donde ladrones no minan ni hurtan. Porque donde esté vuestro tesoro, allí estará también vuestro corazón.

Una de las cosas que más preocupa a la gente que tiene dinero o bienes materiales es la idea de perderlos. Bien sea en un mal negocio, en un robo, en una mala inversión, en un descuido, en un fraude, etc. La verdad, es que esos tesoros tienen solamente un fin seguro, y es la destrucción. Ningún bien material trascenderá más allá de nuestra muerte, en cambio Jesús nos dice que los tesoros que se hacen en el cielo, estos no pueden ser robados ni corrompidos. La palabra (corrompen) encuentra su raíz etimológica en la palabra griega afanízo y se refiere a algo que se consume, que se desvanece. ¡Qué irónico que nos preocupemos más por aquello que se desvanece que por aquello que permanece!

Los tesoros celestiales son espirituales. Se ganan en la tierra, pero se disfrutan en el cielo. Pablo nos da una buena pista en su carta a los colosenses acerca de cómo vivir una vida que acumule tesoros en el cielo.

Colosenses 3:1-3 (NTV)

Ya que han sido resucitados a una vida nueva con Cristo, pongan la mira en las verdades del cielo, donde Cristo está sentado en el lugar de honor, a la derecha de Dios. Piensen en las cosas del cielo, no en las de la tierra. Pues ustedes han muerto a esta vida, y su verdadera vida está escondida con Cristo en Dios.

Si deseas empezar a acumular tesoros eternos y verdaderos, comienza por pensar en las cosas del cielo. Te dejo los siguientes consejos:

• Empieza todos los días orando y pon tu vida en manos de Dios.

• Estudia semanalmente la palabra de Dios.

• Comparte con otros acerca de tu fe y de la obra de Jesucristo.

• No te vayas a dormir sin hablar con Dios y agradecerle por el día que tuviste. Cuenta tus bendiciones, enuméralas y agradece por ellas.

• Si no lo haces, busca un grupo con el que puedas conectar donde se compartan los principios de la Palabra de Dios.

La mayor riqueza que podemos tener es la vida eterna que Cristo nos da. La Biblia enseña que Dios envió a su Hijo a este mundo para darnos vida eterna a su lado. De nada servirán las riquezas eternas si no tengo una eternidad para disfrutarlas. Por eso el primer paso es recibir a Jesucristo, reconocer su obra salvadora y nuestra necesidad de Él y voluntariamente rendirnos antes su señorío. Te invito a que le entregues tu vida a Jesús y hagas de Él tu Dios vivo.

True riches

And if you are untrustworthy about worldly wealth, who will trust you with the true riches of heaven?

Jesus teaches us that there are two kinds of riches; worldly or material wealth, and true or heavenly riches. The first ones are perishable and will stay here on earth. However, it is interesting to see that we humans invest most of our time in accumulating earthly wealth knowing that it does not have eternal value.

Think for a moment in eternity....

Now think about your temporary life on this earth. If you do well, you will live 120 years. What are 120 years compared to eternity? Is it worth investing most of your years on earth to accumulate what will be worthless in eternity?

Matthew 6: 19-21 (NKJV)

Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

One of the things that concerns people who have money or possessions is the idea of ​​losing them. It might be through a bad deal, in a robbery in a bad investment, through a mistake, through fraud, etc. The truth is that these treasures have only one certain end: destruction. No material good will transcend beyond death, however Jesus tells us that the treasures that are built up in heaven cannot be stolen or destroyed. The word (destroy) finds its etymological root in the Greek word aphanizo and refers to something that is consumed, it fades, vanishes, disappears. How ironic that we worry more about those things that vanish, than about those that will remain!

Heavenly treasures are spiritual. They are earned in earth, but enjoyed in heaven. Paul gives us a good clue in his letter to the Colossians about how to live a life that accumulates treasures in heaven.

Colossians 3: 1-3 (NLT)

Since you have been raised to new life with Christ, set your sights on the realities of heaven, where Christ sits in the place of honor at God’s right hand. Think about the things of heaven, not the things of earth. For you died to this life, and your real life is hidden with Christ in God.

If you want to start accumulating true and eternal treasures, start by thinking about the things of heaven. I leave the following tips:

• Start each day to praying and put your life in God's hands.

• Study the Word of God every week.

• Share with others about your faith and the work of Jesus Christ.

• Do not go to sleep without talking to God and thanking him for the day you had. Count your blessings, list them and be grateful for them.

• If you do not do so yet, look for a group that you can connect with where the principles of the Word of God are shared.

The greatest asset we can have is the eternal life that Christ gives us. The Bible teaches that God sent his Son into the world to give us eternal life by his side. Eternal riches will be of no use if there is no eternity to enjoy them. So the first step is to receive Jesus Christ accepting his saving work and recognizing our need of Him. Then willingly surrender before his Lordship. I invite you to give your life to Jesus and make Him your living God.
