Edifica sobre un buen fundamento (Build upon a solid foundation)

Éxodo 33:1-3 RVR1960

Jehová dijo a Moisés: Anda, sube de aquí, tú y el pueblo que sacaste de la tierra de Egipto, a la tierra de la cual juré a Abraham, Isaac y Jacob, diciendo: A tu descendencia la daré; y yo enviaré delante de ti el ángel, y echaré fuera al cananeo y al amorreo, al heteo, al ferezeo, al heveo y al jebuseo (a la tierra que fluye leche y miel); pero yo no subiré en medio de ti, porque eres pueblo de dura cerviz, no sea que te consuma en el camino.

Después de muchos años de lidiar con el Pueblo de Israel y de tenerlos en el desierto, el Señor le dice a Moisés que lo llevará a la tierra prometida. Y aunque esto parece una gran noticia, el Señor termina diciendo (YO NO SUBIRE EN MEDIO DE TI).

Después de tanto tiempo dando vueltas en el desierto, Moisés podría haber dicho: “Gracias Señor que bendición que cumplas tu promesa”, pero por el contrario, su respuesta demuestra la actitud que todos nosotros debemos tener diariamente:

Y Moisés respondió: Si tu presencia no ha de ir conmigo, no nos saques de aquí.

A pesar de que Dios estaba ofreciéndoles a Moisés y al pueblo de Israel la bendición de conquistar la tierra prometida, Moisés era un hombre que conocía la importancia de que Dios nos acompañe en todo lo que emprendamos. La escritura muestra claramente que Moisés prefería quedarse en el desierto pero acompañado de la Presencia de Dios, que lleno de Bendiciones pero lejos del Creador.

Son tantas las bendiciones y las promesas que Dios ha dado a nuestras vidas, que es fácil dejarnos cautivar por las bendiciones de Dios olvidándonos de lo más importante que es su presencia. Como Abraham (el padre de la fe), nosotros también somos dueños de la promesa y la bendición de Dios en Cristo Jesús, y nuestra actitud debe ser como aquella de Moisés, donde le decimos a Dios: “Señor, no quiero emprender nada si tu presencia no va conmigo”; si no estás lleno de la presencia de Dios en tu vida, y no has puesto tu relación con Dios en primer lugar, no te recomiendo emprender nada hasta que hayas hecho de tu relación con Él lo más importante.

Todo el que escucha mi enseñanza y la sigue es sabio, como la persona que construye su casa sobre una roca sólida. Aunque llueva a cántaros y suban las aguas de la inundación y los vientos golpeen contra esa casa, no se vendrá abajo porque está construida sobre un lecho de roca. Sin embargo, el que oye mi enseñanza y no la obedece es un necio, como la persona que construye su casa sobre la arena. Cuando vengan las lluvias y lleguen las inundaciones y los vientos golpeen contra esa casa, se derrumbará con un gran estruendo.

Jesús muestra claramente lo que le puede suceder a aquel que no edifica su vida sobre roca sólida. Tal vez, has iniciado algún proyecto pero no has dedicado tiempo suficiente para estar delante de la presencia de Dios y meditar en tus acciones y decisiones. Puede ser tu matrimonio, tu empresa, tus negocios, tus hijos, una decisión importante o una decisión sencilla, puede ser tu proyecto de vida, en fin sin importar cuál sea el sueño o el plan que tengas, recuerda siempre edificar sobre una vida de oración y meditación en la palabra como lo hizo nuestro Señor Jesús. Él siempre estaba orando al Padre como muestra de su dependencia de Dios. Medita en esto, si Jesús, siendo Dios, pasaba tiempo con el Padre, y hacía la voluntad de Dios siempre (Juan 5:19), ¿cuánto más tu y yo debemos buscar su dirección en todo?

A partir de esta semana, te animo a que busques más la presencia de Dios en tu vida. No te conformes con las bendiciones, busca al dador de la vida y de las bendiciones para que siempre hagas prosperar tu camino y te vaya bien.

Build upon a solid foundation

Exodus 33:1-3 (NKJV)

Then the Lord said to Moses, “Depart and go up from here, you and the people whom you have brought out of the land of Egypt, to the land of which I swore to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, saying, ‘To your descendants I will give it.’ And I will send My Angel before you, and I will drive out the Canaanite and the Amorite and the Hittite and the Perizzite and the Hivite and the Jebusite. Go upto a land flowing with milk and honey; for I will not go up in your midst, lest I consume you on the way, for you are a stiff-necked people."

After many years of dealing with the people of Israel and having them wandering in the wilderness, the Lord tells Moses he will take them to the Promised Land. And although this is apparently good news, the Lord concludes saying (I will not go with you).

After so much time wandering around in the desert, Moses could have said, "Thank you Lord what a blessing it is that you keep your promise", but on the contrary, his reply to God shows the attitude that all of us must have today:

Then he said to Him, “If Your Presence does not go with us, do not bring us up from here”.

Although God was offering to Moses and the Israelites the blessing of conquering the Promised Land, Moses was a man who knew the importance of having God with us in everything we take on. The Scriptures clearly show that Moses preferred to stay in the desert but accompanied by the Presence of God, than full of blessings but away from the Creator.

There are so many blessings and promises given by God to our lives that it’s easy to be captivated with the blessings forgetting the most important thing: His presence. Like Abraham (father of the faith), we as well are heirs of the promises and the blessings of God in Christ Jesus, and our attitude should be like that of Moses, where we say to God: "Lord, I don’t want to take on anything if your presence is not with me "; if you are not full of the presence of God in your life, and you have not put your relationship with God in first place, I do not recommend you to start anything until you've made your relationship with Him the most important thing in life.

Mathew 7:24-27 (NLT)

Anyone who listens to my teaching and follows it is wise, like a person who builds a house on solid rock. Though the rain comes in torrents and the floodwaters rise and the winds beat against that house, it won’t collapse because it is built on bedrock. But anyone who hears my teaching and doesn’t obey it is foolish, like a person who builds a house on sand. When the rains and floods come and the winds beat against that house, it will collapse with a mighty crash.

Jesus clearly shows what can happen to him who doesn't build his life on solid rock. Maybe you've started a project but have not spent enough time to stand before the presence of God and meditate on your actions and decisions. It may be in your marriage, your company, your business, your children, an important decision or a simple decision, it can be your life plan; no matter what the dream or plan you have is, always remember to build upon a life of prayer and meditation on the word as our Lord Jesus did. He was always praying to the Father as a way of showing his dependence on God. Meditate on this, if Jesus, being God, spent time with the Father and operated always under God's will (John 5:19), how much more do you and I need to follow His will?

As of this week, I encourage you to seek God's presence in your life. Do not settle for the blessings, seek the giver of life and the owner of every blessing so you may always make your way prosperous, and do well.
