Lo único que debemos aprender (The one thing we must learn)

Tomad mi yugo sobre vosotros y aprended de mí, que soy manso y humilde de corazón, y hallareis descanso para vuestras almas.

Es interesante que cuando Jesús nos dice que debemos aprender de Él, no lo haga refiriéndose a su poder, a sus milagros, a su fe, a su influencia, a su conocimiento de la palabra sino que lo hace refiriéndose a la humildad.

Jesús pudo haber dicho, aprendan de mí que:

• Hago muchos milagros.

• Tengo mucho poder.

• Soy muy ungido.

• Sano muchos enfermos.

• Predico muy bien.

• Me se toda la Biblia.

• Tengo mucha influencia.

• Tengo muchos seguidores.

• Soy muy sabio.

• Echo fuera demonios.

• Etc., etc.

Sin embargo el único atributo que Jesús nos manda a aprender de Él es LA HUMILDAD DE CORAZÓN.

Cuánto nos falta aprender de Jesús. Hoy se ve una lista interminable de cualidades en los hombres de Dios y muy poca humildad. Solo basta con ver las pancartas o los afiches publicitarios de congresos gritando a los 4 vientos: el apóstol "X", el profeta "Y", y ver sus reseñas sacando pecho y recalcando sus logros, sus estudios, sus años de experiencia, sus prestigiosos ministerios, sus títulos, las multitudes que los siguen, etc. ¡Qué vergüenza!

Hoy la gente quiere ser líder o pastor porque se han enamorado del glamour ministerial. Les gusta el reconocimiento, el micrófono, las multitudes, los escenarios, los aplausos, los likes, los shares. Los pastores quieren ser apóstoles para poder mandar más, gobernar más y tener más gente debajo de ellos.

Pablo, un hombre que tenía más credenciales y títulos que cualquier otro, también nos llama a tener la actitud de Cristo Jesús.

Filipenses 2:5-8 (LBLA)

Haya, pues, en vosotros esta actitud que hubo también en Cristo Jesús, el cual, aunque existía en forma de Dios, no consideró el ser igual a Dios como algo a qué aferrarse, sino que se despojó a sí mismo tomando forma de siervo, haciéndose semejante a los hombres. Y hallándose en forma de hombre, se humilló a sí mismo, haciéndose obediente hasta la muerte, y muerte de cruz.

Es curioso que Jesús siendo Dios se humillara al nivel del hombre, pero muchos hoy siendo hombres quieren ser dioses.

Un verdadero cristiano es el que tiene la actitud de Cristo. Él dio su vida por nosotros. Literalmente se mudó a la tierra, se hizo semejante a nosotros y fue a la cruz sin merecerlo. Hoy nosotros debemos aprender de la humildad de Jesús. Debemos ser más humildes en todo lo que hacemos.

Examinemos nuestra vida e identifiquemos áreas donde nos falta humildad.

Señor, quiero aprender de ti. Quiero ser más humilde y vivir una vida de amor y misericordia hacia los demás.

The one thing we must learn

Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

Interestingly, when Jesus tells us to learn from him, he doesn't do it referring to his power, his miracles, his faith, his influence, his knowledge of the word but does it referring to humility.

Jesus could have said to us, learn from me:

• I perform many miracles.

• I have much power.

• I am very anointed.

• I heal many who suffer.

• I am a great preacher.

• I know the whole Bible.

• I have a lot of influence.

• I have many followers.

• I am very wise.

• I cast out demons.

• Etc., etc.

But the only attribute that Jesus commands us to learn from him is humility of heart.

How much we need to learn from Jesus. Today we see a long list of qualities in men of God and too little humility. Just by seeing the banners or posters advertising their conferences with things like: the apostle "X", the prophet "Y", stressing their achievements, their studies, their years of experience, their prestigious ministries, their titles, the crowds that follow them, etc. What a shame!

Today people want to be leaders or pastors because they are in love with the ministerial glamor. They like the recognition, the microphone, the crowds, the stage, the applause, the likes and shares. Pastors want to become apostles just to be the boss and have more control over people’s lives.

Paul, a man who had more credentials and titles than any other, also calls us to have the attitude of Jesus Christ.

Philippians 2:5-8 (NKJV)

Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross.

Curiously, Jesus while being God, humbled himself to the level of man; but many men today want to be gods.

A true Christian is one who has the attitude of Christ. He gave his life for us. Literally moved to earth and became like us and went to the cross without deserving it. Today we must learn from Jesus' humility. We must be humble in everything we do.

Let us examine our lives and identify areas where we lack humility.

Lord, I want to learn from you. I want to be humble and live a life of love and mercy toward others.
