Isaías 26:3 (RVR 1960)

Tú guardarás en completa paz a aquel cuyo pensamiento en ti persevera; porque en ti ha confiado.

La palabra “pensamiento” viene del hebreo “yestér” que a su vez nos habla de propósito. Y la palabra “persevera” del hebreo “samák” significa reposar, apoyarse, apuntalarse y agarrarse o aferrarse. En otras palabras, si tu propósito de vida está apoyado en Dios, podrás tener perfecta paz.

Esto fue lo que dijo el rey Salomón acerca de caminar confiados en la sabiduría de Dios:

Proverbios 3:5-8 (RVR 1960)

Fíate de Jehová de todo tu corazón, Y no te apoyes en tu propia prudencia. Reconócelo en todos tus caminos, Y él enderezará tus veredas. No seas sabio en tu propia opinión; Teme a Jehová, y apártate del mal; Porque será medicina a tu cuerpo, Y refrigerio para tus huesos.

Confiar en Dios implica dejar de apoyarnos en nuestra propia prudencia. O confías en Dios; o confías en ti mismo, pero no puedes confiar en ambos al mismo tiempo. La fe verdadera consiste en depender absoluta y completamente de Dios para todo en nuestra vida. Solamente quien ha decidido “samák” en el “yéster” de Dios, o confiar completamente en el propósito de Dios, podrá tener paz verdadera.

Ser sabios en nuestra propia opinión es muy peligroso; nos puede conducir a la muerte, ya que el corazón humano es engañoso y perverso (Jeremías 17:9) y nos dirige por caminos que, aunque parecen rectos, su fin es camino de muerte.

Proverbios 14:12 (RVR 1960)

Hay camino que al hombre le parece derecho; Pero su fin es camino de muerte.

No seas guiado por tu parecer; déjate guiar por el Espíritu Santo de Dios y reposa en Su propósito. Él tiene el control de tu vida; Él sabe lo que es mejor para ti. Reconoce a Dios en todos tus caminos y, aunque te equivoques, Él enderezará tus pasos. Cuando somos guiados por Dios y perseveramos en hacer Su voluntad y Su propósito, todo lo que hagamos, así nos equivoquemos, será usado por Dios a nuestro favor.

Romanos 8:28 (NTV)

Y sabemos que Dios hace que todas las cosas cooperen para el bien de quienes lo aman y son llamados según el propósito que él tiene para ellos.

Trust in God's plan

Isaiah 26:3 (NKJV)

You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You.

The word "mind" comes from the Hebrew root "yêtser" which specifically speaks of purpose. And the word "stayed" from the Hebrew "sâmak" which means rest, lean upon, lay and grab or establish. In other words, if your purpose of life is leaned upon God, you will have perfect peace.

This is what King Solomon said about walking confident in the wisdom of God:

Proverbs 3:5-8 (NKJV)

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths. Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the Lord and depart from evil. It will be health to your flesh, And strength to your bones.

Trusting in God means to stop leaning on our own understanding. Either you trust in God, or you trust yourself; but you cannot lean on both simultaneously. True faith is about absolute and complete dependence upon God for everything in our lives. Only someone who has decided to "sâmak" in the "yêtser" of God, or completely trust God's purpose, may have true peace.

Being wise in our own understanding is very dangerous; It can lead us to death, because the human heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure (Jeremiah 17:9), and leads us down through paths that seem right but their end is the way of death.

Proverbs 14:12 (NKJV)

There is a way that seems right to a man, But its end is the way of death.

Do not be led by your own opinion or understanding; allow yourself to be guided by the Holy Spirit of God and rest in His purpose. He is in control of your life; He knows what is best for you. Acknowledge God in all your ways, and even when you make mistakes, He will direct your steps. When we are guided by God and persevere in doing His will and purpose, everything we do, even if we are wrong, will be used by God for our good.

Romans 8:28 (NLT)

And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.
