Fe, mansedumbre, templanza... (Faithfulness, gentleness, self-control...)

Hemos venido desarrollando una serie sobre el fruto del Espíritu Santo. El fruto del Espíritu, se manifiesta en la vida del creyente en nueve atributos los cuales hemos dividido en tres bloques. Amor, gozo y paz - paciencia, benignidad y bondad - fe, mansedumbre y templanza.

Gálatas 5:22-23 (RVR 1960)

Mas el fruto del Espíritu es amor, gozo, paz, paciencia, benignidad, bondad, fe, mansedumbre, templanza; contra tales cosas no hay ley.

FE: Por supuesto está relacionada con la fe en Cristo, pero en este caso la palabra fe está aplicada en el sentido de fidelidad a los demás. Hoy en día la gente no cumple lo que promete. La palabra ha perdido valor y se prometen cosas a la ligera.

Mira lo que dice la Biblia acerca de la fidelidad.

Eclesiastés 5:5 (RVR 1960)

Mejor es que no prometas, y no que prometas y no cumplas.

MANSEDUMBRE: En su raíz griega, se refiere a humildad. Es la capacidad de mantenerse humilde a pesar de nuestra posición. Es una actitud interna que se refleja externamente.

Jesús nos invita a aprender de Él, y en lugar de referirse a su poder, a los milagros que hacía, a su habilidad única para predicar, nos dice que aprendamos de su humildad y mansedumbre.

Mateo 11:29 (RVR 1960)

Llevad mi yugo sobre vosotros, y aprended de mí, que soy manso y humilde de corazón; y hallaréis descanso para vuestras almas.

TEMPLANZA: Significa DOMINIO PROPIO. Se refiere a la capacidad de mantenernos fieles a nuestros principios a pesar del contexto o la situación en la que nos encontremos. Es la capacidad de controlarnos a nosotros mismos. Controlar nuestros pensamientos, nuestras palabras y nuestras acciones.

En resumen, el fruto del espíritu es:

-Amor: a Dios y a los demás

-Gozo: Actitud interna que no depende de las circunstancias.

-Paz: Descanso interior independiente de la situación exterior

-Paciencia: Tolerancia de los demás.

-Benignidad: Ser buenos con los que son "inferiores" a nosotros.

-Bondad: Generosidad con los demás.

-Fe: Fidelidad a nuestro prójimo y a nuestra palabra.

-Mansedumbre: Humildad.

-Templanza: Dominio propio y autocontrol.

¿Se manifiesta en tu vida el fruto del Espíritu? Recuerda que el fruto es producto de una relación con Dios, no de un esfuerzo humano por ser bueno. La clave está en enfocarnos en la raíz (la relación) y no en los frutos (las buenas acciones).

Faithfulness, gentleness, self-control...

We have been developing a series on the fruit of the Holy Spirit. The fruit of the Spirit is manifested in the lives of believers in nine attributes which we have divided into three blocks. Love, joy and peace - longsuffering, kindness and goodness - faith, gentleness and self-control.

Galatians 5:22-23 (NKJV)

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.

FAITHFULNESS: Applied in the sense of faithfulness to others. Nowadays people do not deliver what they promise. People’s word has lost value and many promise things lightly.

Look at what the Bible says about faithfulness.

Ecclesiastes 5:5 (NIV)

It is better not to make a vow than to make one and not fulfill it.

GENTLENESS: In its Greek root, it refers to humility. It’s the ability to remain humble despite our position. It is an inner attitude that is reflected externally.

Jesus invites us to learn from him, and instead of referring to his power, the miracles he performed, or his unique ability to preach, he tells us to learn from his humility and meekness.

Mathew 11:29 (NIV)

Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

SELF-CONTROL: Self-control is the capacity to remain faithful to our principles despite the context or situation in which we are. It is the ability to control ourselves. Control our thoughts, our words and our actions.

In short, the fruit of the spirit is:

-Love: God and others.

-Joy: Internal attitude that does not depend on circumstances.

-Peace: Inner rest independent of our external situation.

-Longsuffering: Patience and tolerance towards others.

-Kindness: Being kind to those who are "inferior" to us.

-Goodness: Generosity.

-Faithfulness: Fidelity to our neighbor and our word.

-Gentleness: Humility and meekness.

-Self-control: Controlling our thoughts, words and actions.

Is the fruit of the Spirit being manifested in your life? Remember that the fruit is the product of a relationship with God, not a human effort to be good. The key is to focus on the root (the relationship) and not the fruit (good deeds).
