El disfraz del cristiano (The disguise of a Christian)

Para esta fecha se genera siempre un mensaje de parte del sector evangélico condenando el Halloween y exhortando a los cristianos a no disfrazarse ni participar de la celebración del 31 de Octubre. No me voy a referir tanto a este tema como a otro que en mi opinión es más importante.

En realidad, en lugar de desgastarnos en el hecho de si debemos o no disfrazarnos en Halloween, yo le diría a los cristianos que no se disfracen ninguno de los 365 días del año. Es que los cristianos, la mayoría, son especialistas en tener doble personalidad. Son uno en la iglesia, y otro fuera de ella.

En la iglesia y entornos "cristianos" hablan bonito, se visten bien, levantan sus manos, dicen "amén", "gloria a Dios", "aleluya", "santo", entre otras palabras que se han aprendido de memoria para sonar ungidos, pero fuera de la iglesia se quitan su máscara religiosa y vuelven a ser iguales a aquellos que no conocen a Jesús.

El cristianismo verdadero se mide frente a principios absolutos que gobiernan la vida de aquel que profesa la fe. Estos principios son líneas rectas que permiten identificar las áreas de debilidad de nuestra vida y corregirlas. ¡Solamente se puede identificar una línea curva en contraste con una línea recta! Eso hacen los principios, nos indican el camino.

Tú que lees esto, no te disfraces de cristiano, vive una vida íntegra siendo fiel a tu fe y a tus principios. No seas un cristiano de doble animo pues no hay peor testimonio que este.

The disguise of a Christian

By this time a message from the evangelical sector raises condemning the Halloween industry and urging Christians not to disguise or participate in the celebration of October 31st. I'm not going to refer to this issue but to one that in my opinion is more important.

Actually, rather than wasting time discussing whether or not we should disguise on Halloween, I would say to Christians that none of the 365 days of the year they should wear a disguise. I say this, because Christians, most of them, are specialists in having a double personality. They are one in church, and another outside of it.

In church and "Christian" environments, they talk nicely, dress well, raise their hands, say "Amen", "Glory to God," "Hallelujah", "Holly" among other words they have memorized to sound anointed; but outside the church they removed their religious mask and become equal to those who do not know Jesus.

True Christianity is measured against absolute principles governing the life of one who professes faith. These principles are straight lines that allow us to identify areas of weakness in our lives and correct them. You can only identify a curved line as opposed to a straight line! This is what principles do; they show us the way.

You who read this, do not disguise yourself as a Christian, live a life of integrity and be true to your faith and your principles. Do not be a double minded Christian because there is no worst testimony to faith than this.
