¿Quién es tu refugio? (Who is your refuge?)

Salmos 46:1-2 (RVR 1960)

Dios es nuestro amparo y fortaleza,

Nuestro pronto auxilio en las tribulaciones. Por tanto, no temeremos, aunque la tierra sea removida, Y se traspasen los montes al corazón del mar.

Estas palabras del salmista revelan el corazón de alguien que ha confiado en Dios y ha decidido entregarle su vida.

Cuando Dios es nuestra fortaleza y nuestro refugio, se puede venir el mundo encima y no tenemos por qué temer. La vida cristiana no es una vida exenta de problemas y dificultades, por el contrario, lo único que tenemos garantizado es que tendremos aflicción (Jn. 16:33). Ser cristiano no implica vivir una vida perfecta y siempre llena de cosas buenas; más bien se trata de mantener la paz, el gozo y la fe en medio de la tribulación.

Gozo no es felicidad pues éste no depende de las circunstancias sino que está por encima de las circunstancias. El verdadero gozo es la capacidad de permanecer alegres en medio de las pruebas y momentos difíciles. La felicidad es externa, el gozo es interno.

Paz no es tranquilidad exterior sino interior. Es la capacidad de permanecer en descanso y reposo en medio de las situaciones adversas.

Fe no es pensamientos positivo. Fe es convicción absoluta de que lo que está escrito en la Palabra de Dios sucederá a pesar de lo que ven nuestros ojos.

¿A quién acudes en momentos difíciles? ¿Quién es tu refugio cuando vienen problemas a tu vida?

La única manera de no ser sacudido cuando vienen los problemas, es no dándole a las cosas el lugar que a Dios le pertenece. Si tu Dios es la plata, tu refugio es la plata y cuando esta falte, no tendrás a quién acudir. Si tu refugio es tu trabajo, no tendrás a dónde ir cuando no tengas trabajo, y así sucesivamente.

Si Dios es todo lo que tienes, Él será todo lo que necesitas; Él será tu refugio.

Who is your refuge?

Psalm 46:1 (NKJV)

God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, Even though the earth be removed.

The words of the psalmist reveal the heart of someone who has trusted God and decided to give his life to Him.

When God is our refuge and strength, the world can fall over us and there is no reason to fear. The Christian life is not a life free of problems and difficulties, on the contrary, we have a certainty that we will have affliction (Jn 16:33). Being a Christian doesn't mean to live a perfect and full of good things life; on the contrary, it's about keeping peace, joy and faith in the midst of trouble.

Joy is not happiness since it does not depend on the circumstances but is above circumstances. True joy is the ability to remain cheerful in the midst of trials and difficult times. Happiness is external, joy is internal.

Peace refers not to external, but to internal tranquility. It's the ability to stay at rest and calm in the midst of adverse situations .

Faith is not positive thinking. Faith is the absolute conviction that what is written in the Word of God will happen despite what our eyes see.

Who do you turn to in difficult times? Who is your refuge when problems come into your life?

The only way not to be shaken when problems come, is not giving things the place that belongs to God. If your God is money, then money is your refuge and when it goes missing, you will not have whom to turn. If your shelter is your job, you have no where to go when you have no work, and so on.

If God is all you have, He will be all you need; He will be your refuge.
