Tengo todo lo que necesito (I have all that I need)

Venimos desarrollando una serie sobre el Salmo 23. En la anterior reflexión vimos lo que significa la frase "El Señor es mi pastor", y entendimos que tal declaración habla principalmente de una RELACIÓN personal con Dios. Hoy, vamos a enfocarnos en la segunda parte de ese Salmo.

Salmo 23:1b (NTV)

Tengo todo lo que necesito.

Esta declaración, nos habla de PROVISIÓN. Muchos creen que esta frase lo que está diciendo es que podremos tener todo lo que queramos, sin embargo lo que realmente quiere decir, es que en Dios lo tenemos todo.

Vimos que el pastor se encarga de proveer todo lo necesario para el bienestar de sus ovejas. De la misma manera, Jesús nuestro buen pastor, se encarga de proveer para todo lo que necesitamos. Es importante diferenciar el concepto de deseo y necesidad.

Una cosa es querer algo y desearlo, y otra muy distinta es necesitarlo. Vivimos en una sociedad tan materialista, que la idea de provisión y abundancia viene acompañada siempre de un signo "$". Sin embargo, yo estoy convencido de que la verdadera prosperidad comienza donde termina el materialismo. He visto que en este mundo no es más próspero el que más tiene sino el que menos necesita para vivir feliz. Y no está en abundancia al que le sobra, sino el que siempre tiene para dar a los demás.

¡Quien tiene a Dios, tiene todo lo que necesita!

I have all that I need

We have been studying Psalm 23. In the previous reflection we saw what the phrase "The Lord is my shepherd" means and we understood that such statement speaks primarily of a personal RELATIONSHIP with God. Today, let's focus on the second part of the Psalm.

Psalm 23:1b (NLT) I have all that I need.

This statement speaks of PROVISION. Many believe that this phrase means that we will have everything we want and desire, but what it really means is that in God we have everything we need.

We saw that the shepherd is responsible for providing everything that is necessary for the welfare of his flock. In the same way, Jesus our good shepherd, is responsible for providing for everything we need. It is important to differentiate the concept of desire from the concept of need.

One thing is to want and desire something, and quite another to need it. We live in a materialistic society, where the idea of provision and abundance is always accompanied by a "$" sign. However, I am convinced that true prosperity begins where materialism ends. I have seen that in this world the most prosperous person is not the one which has the most, but the one that needs less to live happy. And abundance is not when you have extra, but when you have always something to share with others.
