Una de las muestras de amor de un padre hacia su hijo es la disciplina. Solamente el que ha entendido esto, puede recibir consuelo y ser confortado por la disciplina de un padre. De igual manera, la vara y el cayado (figura de guía, dirección, protección y corrección), confortaban al rey David.

El autor del libro de Hebreos, lo escribió de la siguiente manera:

Hebreos 12:6 (RVR 1960)

Porque el Señor al que ama, disciplina, Y azota a todo el que recibe por hijo.

El amor y la disciplina van de la mano. Y la disciplina siempre debe ir acompañada de dirección y guía. Es por esto que habla de vara (elemento usado por el pastor para corregir) y cayado (elemento usado para guiar y dirigir).

Si estás pasando por situaciones en las que sientes la disciplina de Dios en tu vida, debes saber que Dios nos disciplina porque nos ama. Un padre que no disciplina, es un padre que no ama pues uno solamente disciplina a quien le importa o significa algo para uno.

Descansa en Dios y déjate corregir y guiar sabiendo que él sabe lo que es mejor para ti.

Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me

One of the signs of love from a father to his son is discipline. Only someone who has understood this, can take comfort in the discipline of a father. Similarly, the rod and staff (figures of guidance, direction, protection and correction), comforted King David.

The author of Hebrews wrote as follows:

Love and discipline go hand in hand. And discipline should always be accompanied by direction and guidance. This is why the psalmist talks about a rod (element used by the shepherd to correct) and a staff (used to guide and direct).

If you are going through situations where you feel God's discipline in your life, you should know that God disciplines us because He loves us. A father who does not discipline, is a father who does not love, because we only discipline someone we care for and means something to us.

Rest in God and let yourself be correct and guide knowing that he knows what is best for you.
