Salmos 1:1-2 (RVR 1960)

Bienaventurado el varón que no anduvo en consejo de malos, ni estuvo en camino de pecadores, ni en silla de escarnecedores se ha sentado; sino que en la ley de Jehová está su delicia, y en su ley medita de día y de noche.

La palabra bienaventurado, quiere decir “doblemente bendecido”. La biblia dice que aquel que medita en la palabra de Dios de día y de noche es doblemente bendecido. Aquel que lee la Biblia y dedica tiempo a estudiarla de manera constante, es comparado con un árbol plantado junto a corrientes de agua. Un árbol plantado junto a corrientes de agua nunca se secará ni se marchitará, así como un creyente plantado junto a la palabra de Dios nunca se secará ni se marchitará sino que tendrá una vida fructífera y próspera.

La palabra de Dios nos ha sido dada para que la guardemos en nuestro corazón y meditemos en ella de día y de noche.

Los creyentes estamos llamados a pensar en lo bueno y a meditar en la palabra de Dios fortaleciendo así cada día más nuestra fe. Nuestra mente tiene un poder muy grande ya que ella determina nuestro destino. Debemos saber que solamente por medio de meditar en la palabra de Dios, podremos prosperar en todo lo que emprendamos. La Biblia promete que aquellos que meditan en la palabra de Dios día y noche darán fruto y su hoja no caerá.

Salmos 119:11 (RVR 1960)

En mi corazón he guardado tus dichos, para no pecar contra ti.

Este salmo nos enseña que cuando almacenamos la palabra de Dios en nuestra mente y corazón, es como si tuviéramos un chaleco antibalas que protege contra el pecado. Es menos probable tener malos deseos, malos pensamientos y por ende acciones incorrectas cuando hemos almacenado en nuestra mente la palabra de Dios.

Cuando lees la Biblia, y te expones a ella de manera permanente, estarás almacenando información invaluable que tiene la capacidad de proveer bendición para tu vida. Al hacerlo, el Espíritu Santo traerá a tu mente los versos que has guardado en tu corazón en los momentos críticos y podrás usar la palabra como arma de batalla para vencer.

¿Estás leyendo la Biblia? ¿Has memorizado fracciones de la palabra de Dios?

Filipenses 4:8

Por lo demás, hermanos, todo lo que es verdadero, todo lo honesto, todo lo justo, todo lo puro, todo lo amable, todo lo que es de buen nombre; si hay virtud alguna, si algo digno de alabanza, en esto pensad.

Mira la instrucción dada por el Apóstol Pablo en este pasaje. Si hay algo digno de alabanza, es en eso en lo que debes pensar. Si revisas tus pensamientos, ¿Estás pensando solamente en cosas dignas de alabanza? Cosas dignas de alabanza se refiere a lo verdadero, honesto, justo, puro, amable, de buen nombre y lo virtuoso. ¿Será que estás pensando en todo lo contrario? ¿Lo falso, deshonesto, injusto, impuro, rudo, de mala reputación o lo inmoral?

Llenando tu mente de la palabra de Dios el Espíritu Santo podrá transformar tu vida.

Para prosperar en nuestras vidas y tener éxito auténtico debemos:

• Leer y estudiar diariamente a la palabra de Dios.

• Guardar la palabra a la que nos exponemos en nuestro corazón y en nuestra mente y meditar en ella de día y de noche (esto será una consecuencia del punto anterior).

• Pensar en aquellas cosas que son dignas de alabanza.

Al hacer esto, seremos bienaventurados.

Señor, ayúdanos a vivir una vida que te agrade y danos humildad para leer tu palabra.

¿What are you thinking?

Psalm 1:1-2 (NKJV)

Blessed is the man Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, Nor stands in the path of sinners, Nor sits in the seat of the scornful; But his delight is in the law of the Lord, And in His law he meditates day and night.

The Bible says that he who meditates in the Word of God day and night is doubly blessed. He, who reads the Bible and takes time to study it constantly, is compared to a tree planted by streams of water. A tree planted by streams of water will never get dry nor wither, just like a believer who is planted by God's word will never get dry nor will wither but will have a fruitful and prosperous life.

The word of God is given to us so that we might keep it hidden in our hearts and meditate on it day and night.

We as believers are called to constantly think good things and to meditate on the word of God strengthening our faith every day. Our mind has great power because it determines our destiny. We know that only through meditation on the Word of God, we can succeed in everything we undertake. The Bible promises that those who meditate on the word of God day and night bear fruit and their leaves do not fall.

Psalm 119:11 (NKJV)

Your word I have hidden in my heart, that I might not sin against You.

This psalm teaches us that when we hide God’s word in our mind and heart, it´s like if we wore a bulletproof vest that protects us against sin. We are less likely to have sinful desires, bad thoughts and therefore incorrect actions when we have stored God’s word in our mind.

When you read the Bible, and you are exposed to it on a permanent basis, you are storing valuable information that has the ability to provide blessing for your life. When doing so, the Holy Spirit will bring in critical situations into your mind the verses that have been hidden in your heart; therefore you can use the word as a battle weapon to overcome.

Are you reading the Bible? Have you memorized fractions of the word of God?

Philippians 4:8 (NKJV)

Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.

Look at the instruction given by the Apostle Paul in this passage. If there is anything worthy of praise that is exactly in what you must think. If you check your thoughts, are you thinking only praiseworthy things? Praiseworthy things refer to things that are true, honest, noble, just, pure, lovely, of good report and virtuous. Could it be that you are thinking the exact opposite? False, dishonest, unfair, unclean, rude, disreputable or immoral things?

By filling your mind with the word of God, the Holy Spirit can transform you.

To prosper in our lives and have authentic success we must:

• Read and study God's word on a daily basis.

• Keep in our hearts and in our minds the word to which we are exposed and meditate on it day and night (this will be a consequence of the above).

• Think about praiseworthy things.

In doing so, we will be blessed.

Lord, help us to live a life that pleases you and give us the humility required to read and study your word.
