Príncipe de paz (Prince of peace)

Isaías 9:6 (RVR 1960)

Porque un niño nos es nacido, hijo nos es dado, y el principado sobre su hombro; y se llamará su nombre Admirable, Consejero, Dios Fuerte, Padre Eterno, Príncipe de Paz.

Uno de los anhelos más profundos de todo ser humano es tener paz. Quien tiene paz, vive bien, duerme bien y funciona bien en todo lo que hace. La paz no es ausencia de problemas, dificultades, o inconvenientes; la paz es un asunto del corazón y la mente. Por ello Pablo dice en su carta a los Filipenses, que la paz de Dios guardará nuestros corazones y pensamientos.

Y la paz de Dios, que sobrepasa todo entendimiento, guardará vuestros corazones y vuestros pensamientos en Cristo Jesús.

Pablo sabía que el problema muchas veces no es el problema en sí, sino la angustia que eso produce en nuestro corazón y en nuestra mente. Jesús dijo que en el mundo tendremos aflicción, pero nuestra confianza (paz) es que Él ha vencido al mundo (Juan 16:33). La paz es la capacidad dada por Dios de tener descanso en los momentos difíciles.

La paz no se relaciona con la situación externa, sino con la condición interna del corazón. Por eso David escribió en medio de la guerra:

En paz me acostaré y dormiré, porque solo tú, oh Señor, me mantendrás a salvo.

Jesús vino a traer paz a nuestros corazones y a nuestros pensamientos; sin embargo, hoy la gente no tiene paz sino que vive con mucha angustia y aflicción en su corazón.

¿Estas preocupado por el mañana? La preocupación es falta de fe; y la falta de fe, viene por desconocer el amor de Dios, su poder absoluto y su capacidad sobrenatural para proveer todo lo que necesitamos, conforme a sus riquezas en gloria en Jesucristo (Filipenses 4:19). Jesús es nuestra provisión y Su anhelo es bendecirnos y prosperarnos en todas las cosas (3 Juan 1:2). No debes preocuparte por el mañana, debes ocuparte en el hoy. Tener paz nos permite enfocarnos en nuestras tareas diarias mientras confiamos en que Dios proveerá una respuesta a la situación que estamos viviendo.

Jesús nos da la paz que sobrepasa todo entendimiento, es una paz que nadie puede entender, pues aun en medio de las pruebas podemos tener gozo, y paz en el corazón. No pongas tu paz en las cosas que este mundo ofrece porque dependerás de ellas para ser feliz; pon tu mirada en Jesús para que puedas experimentar la paz que solo Él nos puede dar.

Entrega hoy todas tus cargas a Dios y descansa plenamente en Jesús tu salvador. Toma un tiempo para meditar en aquellas cosas que te quitan la paz y entrégaselas a Jesús. Pídele que te de la paz que sobrepasa todo entendimiento.

Prince of peace

Isaiah 9:6 (NKJV)

For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

One of the deepest longings of every human being is to have peace. Whoever has peace, lives well, sleeps well and functions well in everything he does. Peace is not the absence of problems, difficulties or inconveniences; peace is a matter of the heart and mind. Paul says in his letter to the Philippians, that the peace of God will guard our hearts and minds.

Philippians 4:7 (NKJV)

And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Paul knew that the problem is often not the problem itself, but the anxiety that occurs in our hearts and in our minds. Jesus said that in the world we will have tribulation, but our confidence (peace) is that He has overcome the world (John 16:33). Peace is the God-given ability to have rest in difficult times.

Peace is not related with our external condition, but with the internal condition of the heart. David wrote in times of war:

In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, O Lord, will keep me safe.

Jesus came to bring peace to our hearts and our thoughts; however, today people do not have peace but lived with great anguish and grief in their hearts.

Are you worried about tomorrow? Worry is lack of faith; and lack of faith, is not knowing God's love, His absolute power and His supernatural ability to provide everything we need, according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19). Jesus is our provision and His desire is to bless and prosper us in everything (3 John 1:2). You must not worry about tomorrow; you must take care about today. Having peace allows us to focus on our daily tasks while trusting in God to provide a response to the situation we are living.

Jesus gives us the peace that passes all understanding; it is a peace that no one can understand, because even in the midst of trials we can have joy and peace of heart. Do not set your peace in the things this world offers because you'll depend on them to be happy; put your eyes on Jesus so you can experience the peace that only He can give.

Bring today all your burdens to God and fully rests in Jesus your savior. Take time to meditate on those things that take away your peace and give them to Jesus. Ask Him to give you His peace that passes all understanding.
